Software for organisations that have to answer for their data.
Public institutions and development organisations have a harder software problem than most businesses. The data is sensitive, the reporting obligations are external and non-negotiable, the budget cycle is annual, and the person who inherits the system in four years will not be the person who commissioned it. I build for that.
That means documented systems, open-source infrastructure wherever it is defensible, data governance and access control designed in rather than added later, and pipelines that hold up when the input data is messier than the specification promised. It also means I can talk to your statisticians and your network administrator in their own terms.
What this looks like in practice:
- Oracle APEX and PL/SQL applications: payroll, recruitment, interactive reporting, dynamic forms
- Data pipelines and ETL, including messy and multi-source inputs
- Survey and data collection applications, including offline-capable field collection
- Reporting, dashboards and statistical output preparation

- Server and network infrastructure: Linux (Rocky, AlmaLinux), Proxmox virtualisation, pfSense, UniFi networking, structured cabling

Web applications, sites and mobile apps that do not need rebuilding in eighteen months.
Most business software fails in a predictable way. It is built quickly against a vague brief, it works for the first six months, and then it becomes the thing nobody wants to touch. The fix is not more technology, it is deciding properly at the start what the thing has to do and building it so the next person can read it.
I build web applications, business websites and mobile apps end to end: the interface, the API, the database, the deployment. You get the source, the documentation and a system you could hand to another engineer without an apology.

How an engagement runs
Conversation.
You describe the problem. I ask questions and tell you honestly whether I am the right person. No charge, no obligation.
Scope.
I write down what the system will do, what it will not do, what it costs and how long it takes. You approve that before anything is built.
Build.
You see working software early and often, not a demo at the end. Changes are expected; surprises are not.
Handover.
Source code, documentation, credentials and a walkthrough. The system is yours.
After.
Support and maintenance if you want it, on terms agreed up front. Never a dependency you did not choose.
